Telegram Part-Time Job Scam: The Truth Behind YouTube Like Frauds

The offer sounds too good to be true: earn ₹3,000 to ₹5,000 daily simply by working from home, liking YouTube videos, rating Google Maps locations, or reviewing movies. All you need is a smartphone and a Telegram account.

Unfortunately, this is the notorious Prepaid Task Scam that has drained hundreds of crores from Indian citizens.

The Anatomy of a Telegram Task Scam

Stage 1: The Trust Building

You receive a WhatsApp message offering a part-time job. To prove they are "genuine," they give you 3 simple tasks (like subscribing to a YouTube channel). Once completed, they actually pay you ₹150 to ₹500 via UPI. This small payment builds immense trust.

Stage 2: The VIP Group

You are then added to a Telegram "VIP VIP Reception Group" where hundreds of other members (who are actually bots or accomplices) constantly post screenshots of earning massive profits.

Stage 3: The Prepaid Tasks

To earn bigger commissions, you are asked to complete a "Prepaid Merchant Task." You must deposit ₹1,000 to earn ₹1,300. Initially, they return your money with profit.

Stage 4: The Trap

Eventually, you are given a "Premium Task" requiring a deposit of ₹50,000. When you pay, the system suddenly shows an "error" or claims your task is incomplete. To withdraw your money, you are told to deposit ₹1 Lakh more. This cycle continues until you run out of funds.

What to Do If You've Been Scammed?

1. Stop Paying: Do not pay the scammers "tax" or "withdrawal fees." You will never get your money back from them.
